I blame Peter Merholz. Dammit! I told him it was a silly word!

The French for blog is 'bleurg'. Surely everyone knows that?

The commission has no power and the word will not take, simply because only people who don't have internet access will use it.

It's not all bad trying to come up with French equivalents for mostly English new terminology. We have a Franch word for software (logiciel) which is completely made up and which has entirely prevailed ever since home computing began. And I like it.

But here I'm afraid this new bloc thing is only going to make it harder to explain to grampa what a blog actually is.

I'm French by the way.

I always liked the word myself.
