On returning from Norfolk...
Well, I'm back in London after the family Christmas. Things went pretty well, all things considered. There were a few wobbly moments as my mother dealt with the stress of catering for - and hosting - thirteen people for lunch, and I will admit to getting irritable with my grandmother at least once. But I got to play with my little brother (which was cool), see my cousin's new little boy and sleep in a lot. But just because I'm back in London doesn't mean that I'm going to leap back into writing immediately - I'm really feeling a need to destress and think about other things for a few days, so if anything turns up here it will be by accident rather than design. I am going to try and sort out a couple of pages on Wikipedia though, if I get a chance. I've even brought down some books from Norfolk expressly for the purpose.
In the meantime, here are a couple of pictures of Norfolk to give you a sense of how beautiful it all looked (with more on the Flickr stream as usual). I hope you all had as good a Christmas as I did and that you're feeling more ready to confront the New Year than I am! I'm exhausted. Luckily, no work until next week - so more sleep for me right now. With any luck I'll be feeling back on form soon enough.

I've been reading your blog for a year –more or less– and I find it really interesting. I found it accidentally and I got addicted.
I'm not a expertise about Internet neither most of the stuff that you talk but you've helped me to discover very usefull things.
For example, the first time I read something about podcast was in your blog or new software.
Maybe It's a bit weird because I read you weekly and you don't know nothing about me but I only want to thank you and to encourage to keep doing Plasticbag. You have a loyal Galician reader.
I send this comment from Santiago de Compostela (Galicia, on the northwest cost of Spain).
Happy New Year.
P.D. Sorry for my english mistakes.

To be honest I would like to echo the sentiment of the previous comment. I don't comment a great deal here but I read your words as often as I can because I appreciate your worldly insight. So, at New Year, I feel it entirely appropriate to say thanks for everything you have written in 2005 and I look forward to your words of wisdom in 2006.

Hi Tom, This is the first time I've seen this site. I'm a bit gutted someone else has used the beloved plastic bag moniker. My blog's name comes from a) being born and raised in Kirkby, Liverpool, everyone took their shopping home in a 'placky bag' and b) blogger.com's suggestion to put '5000' in the 'plasticbag' title as it had already been taken.
Your site is great. I can only hope mine holds as many wise words of wisdom...

By the way, do you know Sheringham in Norfolk? It whups Cromer's ass, despite being the pier-less relation.
