Founded in 1992, Guildford Live is the festival world's proof that small can be beautiful. With a capacity of just 10,000, easy access from London and the feel of a large village fête, it's a great option for Londoners looking for a family day out/weekend.
ATMOSPHERE:
The festival takes place in the pretty surroundings of Stoke Park and boasts one of the most relaxed, laid-back atmospheres this side of Glastonbury.
DON'T MISS
For the second year, the Unsung Heroes Stage will be providing anyone with the chance to get up and do a 15-minute turn. Or, for rather better sounds, check out the hard rocking Six By Seven, wonderful nu-folkster David Gray or the London Community Gospel Choir.
HANDY HINTS:
If it all gets too much for you, you can cool off in the nearby lido.
TICKETS:
Weekend tickets £57. Friday alone is £18, Saturday £28, Sunday £27. Under 14s weekend tickets are £10 and day tickets are £5. Under are admitted free. Camping is not included in the ticket price and costs £20 per tent. CC: 020 7771 2000 or buy online.
